India vs. England: Can England Bounce Back?

Last time we spoke about this test match series, it was looking at England‘s miracle comeback to win in Hyderabad to lead the series 1-0.

Since then, things haven’t gone the way of England, and ahead of the fourth test this coming Friday England now find themselves 2-1 down, including a loss by 434 runs in the third – the biggest in terms of number of runs in 90 years.

Given India’s dominance in the last two matches (and to an extent the first match too), is there a way back for England in this series? According to coach Brendon McCullum, yes.

He acknowledge the team are “hurting” from the heavy defeat in the third test, but still believes in over a week people can look forward to a decider from the fifth test. McCullum’s belief in a turnaround comes from the fact the team have already done it once, and that England were in promising positions in the second and third tests before ultimately falling by the end.

Showing his confidence in the side, McCullum did say “too right we can win the series”. Can we head to a decider? Can England bounce back and win the series overall?
