The T20 World Cup Begins This Weekend!

The T20 Cricket World Cup is just around the corner – with the shortest format of the game set to take center stage! Following on from their iconic World Cup victory in 2019, England would follow on by winning the 2022 T20 format as well to continue their dominant ways. Question is – can they keep the momentum going in these international tournaments?

In our last blog we discussed how England preparations were being ruined by the weather in their four-match series against Pakistan. Luckily for the defending champions, the weather held off for the final match and England stormed to victory with ease. Up next, their first game in the tournament, against Scotland on Tuesday.

Another interesting note is the dual hosts of the tournament. While West Indies are no strangers at all to the great game of cricket, it’s interesting to note the other hosts – the United States of America, not necessarily a country you’d associate with cricket.

The USA team finds itself in a major tournament like this for the first ever time, an honour rewarded for being one of the hosts. Momentum is also on their side – just last week, they took a shock series victory over Bangladesh when they came over to tour America. It would be the USA’s first series victory over a full member team of the ICC!

Who will take home the crown this time? Can England retain their title, or can Australia become the first nation to be reigning champions in all three World Cup formats? Make sure you’re cheering on your side with exclusive t-shirts, hoodies & sweatshirts available now!
