Ton Up: Ben Stokes’ 100th Test Match

On Thursday, Ben Stokes will reach his 100th test match when he leads England out for the third test against India.

While Stokes himself isn’t too fussed about the milestone, calling it “just a number” – what an impact he’s made in the previous 99 he’s had.

It was in just his second match against Australia in which he hit his first century for England, and he holds the record for most sixes hit in test match cricket – an incredible 128 of them!

He also put in legendary performances against South Africa in 2016 where he scored 258, and who can forget the amazing Ashes 2019 test at Headingley when, against the odds, he hit 135 not out to take England to one of their best wins.

With 6,251 runs and 197 wickets currently, he’s just three wickets away from joining Jacques Kallis and Sir Garfield Sobers in the club of 6,000 runs and 200 wickets in test match history.

It’s an amazing achievement for Stokes, and being just 32 there’s still more to come as well!
